Creating your first Blog post
For our first assignment in MED 205, we will be creating a blog using Blogger.com. (Please check out the assignment sheet before you begin.) This easy-to-use website will make creating blogs a breeze. You will start by going to blogger.com and logging in using your Heidelberg email address (which is also a Google address).
Once you are logged in, walk through the step by step for setting up your blog. You will be asked for a few pieces of information and to create your blog address. Follow the instructions on screen. Once you have done so, your blog site will be create and you can create new posts. Select the orange New Post button to create your first entry.
As you create your posts, you have a variety of formatting options in the ribbon across the top of the Post window. Once you have a created a blog post, you will click Publish to share it with the class (and world). You can also Save and come back to a post later before publishing. You can even Schedule a blog to post in the future.
Once you post a blog each week, take a few minutes to send post the blog address (copy and pasted from the address window in your browser) on the Forum post for blogs that week. This isn't an ideal way to share, but I haven't figured out a better way, yet. Once I do, we may be able to simplify. I will keep you posted.
As you work on your blog, please let me know if you have any questions. This is my first semester using Blogger for this assignment, but it is a lot easier than what we've used in the past.I want your focus to be on the posts themselves rather than the technology used.
